In order to maintain an objective and neutral position, membership shall be restricted to the representatives from the following:

  • National and international NGOs working directly with and for children;
  • Human rights & humanitarian organizations;
  • Civil society;
  • Commissions & federations;
  • UN agencies;
  • Children’s organizations and clubs.

However, the coalition members have freedom to continue individual bilateral co-operation with other institutions not mentioned above. 

The membership of the Coalition is flexible and has provisions to include ‘observers’ when and where necessary.

The new steering committee members were elected on the consensus basis.
